Job summary

Shaftesbury Millie College is seeking a qualified speech and language therapist to join its post-16 educational setting for young people with disabilities. The role covers assessment, intervention and training in a collaborative MDT, with term-time hours (over 35 per week) and a focus on individual and group delivery, plus family engagement.

You will work across classrooms and vocational activities, develop the ACE Centre's total communication environment (sign, Makaton, VOCAs) and monitor

Qualifications

• Qualified speech and language therapist with HCPC registration.
• Experience in educational settings with children/young people.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and use supervision effectively.
• Team player with ability to train staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver SLT assessments and interventions for young people with developmental disorders.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate interventions; monitor progress against plans.
• Manage own caseload; maintain records per HCPC guidelines.
• Work 1:1, 2:1 and in groups across classes and activities.
• Develop a total communication environment (sign, Makaton, VOCAs).
• Provide training for staff and families; collaborate with MDT.
