Job summary

Shaftesbury Education is seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist with a focus on Paediatrics/Young adults to join Shaftesbury Millie College in Dorset.

The role delivers SLT assessments and interventions to students aged 16-25 with complex needs, working 1:1, 2:1 and in groups, training staff and supporting total communication. You will collaborate with families and the MDT to ensure high-quality education and therapy services within a fully inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist.
• Experience in educational settings.
• Experience building positive relationships with children and young people.
• Ability to train staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Promote integration of SLT plans into education via staff training.
• Maintain clinical records and HCPC guidelines.
• Monitor student progress and MDT discussions.
• Carry out assessments and deliver interventions.
• Develop Total Communication environment.
• Work with families and other professionals.
