Job summary

KT Healthcare is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to support a young person in Northampton as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will deliver 1-hour direct therapy sessions on a fortnightly basis, develop an individualised communication plan, and collaborate with school staff, families and other professionals to embed communication strategies across education, home and community settings.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Speech and Language Therapist is required.
• Experience with children and young people with autism and complex communication needs.
• Knowledge of Developmental Language Disorder, speech sound disorders, and neuro-affirming practice.
• Experience supporting receptive and expressive language, social communication, and sensory communication needs.
• Excellent communication, report writing and multidisciplinary working skills.
• Collaborative approach with families, education staff and other professionals.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our Therapies team, supporting a young person in Northampton.

This is an excellent opportunity to deliver specialist speech and language therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team, helping a young person with complex communication needs to develop functional communication skills, increase independence and thrive within their educational environment.

The Role

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
• Experience working with children and young people with autism and complex communication needs
• Knowledge of Developmental Language Disorder, speech sound disorders and neuro-affirming practice
• Experience supporting receptive and expressive language difficulties, social communication and sensory communication needs
• Excellent communication, report writing and multidisciplinary working skills
• A collaborative approach to working with families, education staff and other professionals
• Experience supporting young people within educational settings would be highly desirable
