Job summary

Cygnet is seeking a Speech & Language Therapist to support individuals with acquired brain injuries at their new facility. The role involves assessing and managing clients in a neuropsychiatric setting, offering opportunities for career growth and professional development. The position is full-time with a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Current (or pending) registration with HCPC and membership of professional body (RCSLT).
  • Experience or keen interest in neurological conditions and mental health.
  • Experience in dysphagia competencies is beneficial.

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage individuals with acquired brain injuries.

Salary: £31,317 p/a



Full time: 40 hours a week

About Cygnet Paddocks



Cygnet Paddocks is a 28-bed Neuropsychiatric care and treatment facility for men affected by acquired brain injuries which opened in May 2024. It is a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease an opportunity to help manage the progression of their symptoms. We are now seeking an NQP Speech and Language Therapist to join our Highly Specialist SLT in supporting individuals with speech, language, communication (SLCN) and eating, drinking & swallowing (EDS) needs.

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with:




  • A Diploma/Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and current (or pending) registration with HCPC and membership of professional body (RCSLT)

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will assess, diagnose and play a key role in the management of men with acquired brain injuries, behaviours that challenge and other diagnosed / undiagnosed conditions. Under the guidance of the supervising SLT, you will be able to train others, promote good practice and maintain a successful inclusive communication environment. Low caseload numbers enable you to provide focused support.
