Job Description:

Come and join one of the UK’s largest providers of complex care. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

At Chislehurst Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, you will have the opportunity to be part of something bigger: a mission to change lives through expert care. As part of the Active Care Group, we are driven by a commitment to make a lasting, positive impact on our service users and their families.

Since opening in 2023, we have provided essential, high-quality care to individuals on their path to recovery, helping them lead more fulfilling lives. Although we are in the early stages of our journey, we are committed to delivering exceptional rehabilitation services to those living with complex neurological conditions, empowering them to regain independence and rebuild their lives.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing difficulties, as well as developing individualised therapy plans to support each service user’s needs and rehabilitation goals. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse caseload and make a real difference in the lives of individuals with complex neurological needs.

This part-time role (two days per week) is perfect for those balancing other commitments, such as additional employment, training, or personal obligations. The position also offers a unique opportunity to hone and expand your neurorehabilitation skills, while also allowing the freedom to explore other specialties and client groups.

We are excited about our future and look forward to many more years of growth and success. Apply now to be a part of our journey!

What you'll be working:

This role is 15 hours per week. Ideally, the successful candidate will need to be on site on Tuesdays for our MDT meeting, and the remaining working hours can be discussed.

  • Providing assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders
  • Devise evidence-led therapy programmes at a specialist level, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary working to achieve the best outcomes for our patients
  • Participate in service delivery audit and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure all relevant codes of practice and regulations are upheld
  • Participate in internal training (induction, mandatory training, MDT in-service)
  • Develop your skills in clinical supervision and informal mentoring of Speech and Language Therapy Assistants and students
  • Named Therapist duties to ensure cohesive goal setting and therapy and coordinating discharge
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidance for excellence

We provide induction, support, and ongoing professional development in line with the role, with great opportunities to broaden your skill base and develop your leadership skills.

What you'll have:

  • HCPC registration
  • Previous experience within a neurorehabilitation setting
  • An excellent interpersonal worker, maintaining consistent and effective workplace relationships
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS

We also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions. To support this, we are a Disability Confident committed employer.

What to look forward to:

  • Birthday off
  • Join the Active Learning Hub and benefit from a wide range of e-learning and face-to-face training and development opportunities
  • Active Reward App giving discounts and savings on your weekly shop
  • Free 24-hour confidential Employee Assistance Programme Helpline & App to support with legal, health, wellbeing, relationship and consumer advice
