Job summary

NHS Tayside in Dundee invites applications for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to manage complex dysphagia and communication needs in the HASU at Ninewells Hospital. The role offers a supportive team and opportunities for service innovation.

The post is fixed term/secondment until June 2027. Hours are 36 per week and part-time would be considered to fit service needs. An exciting opportunity to develop specialist skills within a collaborative environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SLT to gain skills in managing highly complex dysphagia and communication difficulties in the hyper acute stroke unit (HASU), in Ninewells Hospital. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and forward‑thinking team contributing to high‑quality care and service innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the assessment and management of complex dysphagia and communication needs in the HASU, including instrumental assessments.
• Deliver education to SLT students and support learning for AHP, nursing, and medical colleagues
• Lead on audit, service development, quality improvement
• Participate in peer support, clinical supervision, and appraisal processes
