We currently have a band 5 vacancies for a speech and language therapist. The post holder will be based in Ashford. The post will give you a mixed paediatric caseload according to your interests and the needs of the service. Our service operates within the Balanced System Model with easy access to the service via Talking Walk-Ins (for pre-school children) and a Link therapist model for schools. This transformation has dramatically reduced waiting times. We also use a patient reported outcome measure (Canadian Occupational Performance Measure) to record and report on our outcomes.
We are a forward thinking innovative service and value the development of all staff within our integrated therapy team.
We offer in-service integrated CPD as well as external training for critical and essential courses. We have department specialists who you can go to for advice and support and joint working as well as a supportive team on base.
You will be given a dedicated supervisor to help you with your preceptorship and have access to our Band 5 support group for peer mentoring. You will have regular line management to monitor your progress through your preceptorship and to provide support.

The ability to converse easily and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for all customer facing roles.
Most positions require a Disclosure and Barring check and will be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Posts working regularly or unsupervised with children or vulnerable adults require an enhanced check.
