Job description: Speech and Language Therapist – Neuro Rehab Centre

Location: Milton Keynes

Working Hours: 38.5 hours per week across Monday – Friday (Part-time hours also available)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Full Time

Rate: £33K – £43K per annum

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join our Neuro-Rehab Centre in Milton Keynes. This role involves providing specialist neurological care and rehabilitation for individuals with progressive or acquired neurological conditions. Our care home is expanding its services with a new SMD outpatient service following the success of our other location. The successful candidate will work with patients with conditions such as traumatic and acquired brain injuries, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, allowing flexibility in working hours.

Responsibilities:

As a Speech & Language Therapist, you will:

  • Participate as a full member of the multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual treatment and rehabilitation plans, liaising with relevant agencies as appropriate.
  • Help residents develop and improve speech and communication via aids and systems.
  • Assess and monitor dysphagia, working closely with the dietician and catering team to ensure the best mealtime experience.
  • Communicate with relatives and carers with empathy, providing information, support, and advice regarding treatment plans.
  • Be an active member of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience utilizing an evidence-based, patient-centred approach to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans
