Sonic Healthcare UK in Harlow is seeking a Specimen Reception Supervisor to join the PAH site within the Sample Reception department. This permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offers oversight of pre-analytical processes in a busy pathology service.
You will support haemato logy, blood transfusion and biochemistry workflows, provide guidance to the team, and help maintain quality and governance within the department. Training is provided for all tasks.

A vacancy has arisen for a Supervisor to join our team in the Specimen Reception department based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) in Harlow.
This post offers the opportunity to broaden your skills and experience in a busy Pathology Specimen reception. The laboratory at PAH ESL provides 24/7 Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry testing for acute and urgent care areas of the hospital. Overall, Job Purpose would be to assist in the daily running of the pre-analytical services for the laboratory sections to which you have been assigned within PAH Specimen Reception.
To assist in the performance of the routine diagnostic analytical work of the department as directed and to provide general support in other areas of the Laboratory during the out of hours shifts.
The post holder will work core hours providing continuity of service and cover during management absence, strengthen governance of QMS activities, ensure timely completion of audits and investigations.
The department provides a wide variety of investigations using advanced instrumentation covering automated and manual diagnostic testing. The successful candidate will join our dedicated team to support our biomedical scientists and associate practitioners in delivering a high-quality pathology service. Previous experience would be helpful, however full training will be provided for all work performed.
