Job summary

IPP Analytics Limited is recruiting a Specimen Reception Supervisor to lead the pre-analytics team across Basildon hub and partner sites in Essex. You will supervise the specimen reception and automate areas, ensuring safe, efficient processing of clinical samples and high-quality pathology support.

The role requires 37.5 hours per week with shift work, including weekends and bank holidays, on a 4–6 week rota.

Qualifications

• Experience in specimen reception/pre-analytics is essential.
• Strong numeracy and accuracy in handling samples.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of Specimen Reception and Automate team.
• Manage attendance, annual leave, rotas, and resource allocation.
• Train and support staff including casuals and trainees.
• Maintain communication via briefs, boards and newsletters.
• Ensure timely data entry and adherence to H&S guidelines.
• Oversee sample receipt, processing, and timely dispatch.
