Job description

Specifications Technologist, North Wales

Salary: Up to c.£38,000 (DOE)

Hybrid working available – 2 days onsite, 3 days at home

Are you an experienced Specifications Technologist looking for your next challenge? An established, successful food manufacturer is now looking for a detail-focused individual to manage customer and retailer specifications across a wide portfolio of complex products.

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced business where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key role in ensuring all specifications, pack copies and artwork approvals are completed to the highest standards, supporting product launches across major UK retailers.

The role:

  • Writing and completing retailer, customer, and own-brand specifications across a variety of major accounts.
  • Managing critical paths, ensuring all deadlines are met and specifications are right first time.
  • Reviewing and approving artwork, liaising with artwork houses and print suppliers, and ensuring pack copy accuracy.
  • Supporting NPD teams with nutritional calculations, technical submissions, and recipe cross-checks.
  • Maintaining close communication with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure compliance and smooth product launches.

About You:
We're looking for someone with solid experience handling retailer specifications (such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Aldi or others), who understands retailer codes of practice and has a keen eye for detail.

A background in bakery or working with complex products would be an advantage. You’ll need to be highly organised, a confident communicator, and able to manage your workload effectively to meet tight deadlines.
