Specifications Technologist

Position: Specifications Technologist

Type: Permanent

Based in Barnsley - Hybrid (2 days WFH)

Working as part of a fantastic team reporting to a Senior Specification Technologist, this role involves writing and maintaining finished product specifications for products supplied and produced by Premier Foods.

Responsibilities include:

• Collating, validating, and accurately inputting data into Retailer and Premier Foods specification databases. Generating pack copy data and reviewing artwork to ensure accuracy.
• Ensuring timely provision of data meeting the 'Gold' standard.
• Maintaining specifications and data to ensure all information is current and correct.

Requirements:

• Qualifications as required; food industry or specification writing experience preferred.
• Current experience within the Food Industry and/or 2+ years in specification writing.
• Food or Science-based degree/qualification.
• IT proficiency.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects under tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail in data transfer.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Alignment with company Leadership Values.

Key duties:

• Preparing information to generate product specifications and labels compliant with legislation.
• Creating and verifying specifications for various product types.
• Ensuring legislative compliance and adherence to customer policies.
• Maintaining knowledge of customer requirements and specifications systems.
• Liaising with suppliers, technical teams, procurement, regulatory, R&D, marketing, and project managers to ensure product compliance.
• Generating pack copy data and reviewing artwork for compliance and accuracy.
• Responding to product-related inquiries, including allergen, ingredient, and nutritional information.
