Job summary

Greencore, located in Sheffield with hybrid working, is seeking a specifications specialist on a 12-month FTC. You will manage external specifications, ensure labeling accuracy, and document compliance processes while driving continuous improvement. Hybrid setup supports collaboration across sites.

Ideal candidates have HND-level education, Level 2 Food Hygiene and Health & Safety, and experience with retailer specs and web-based systems in food manufacturing. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

Ideally educated to HND level or equivalent professional qualification.
Holds a level 2 food hygiene and a level 2 health and safety certification.
Experience with computers and web-based customer specification systems.
Knowledge writing specifications for retailers in a food manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of legal labelling legislation and its application.
Experience with retailer own web-based systems.

Responsibilities

Set up approval for external specifications and relevant technical information per customer requirements.
Review artwork and update for regulatory changes affecting pack information and labelling.
Document procedures to ensure internal and customer compliance.
Review raw material specs to develop gold standard specifications.
Validate specs and processes to identify synergies and improvements.
Operate in line with Health, Safety and Environment policies.

What You'll Be Doing

Set up approval for external specifications and relevant technical information in accordance with customer requirements
Review copy artwork, in line with updated customer technical and labelling policies, and include all regulatory changes that will impact on the accuracy of the pack information and labelling
Document procedures to ensure that internal and customer compliance is met, and the relevant process development practices are adopted
Reviewing raw material specification content to develop "gold standard" specifications for each raw material to improve compliance
Validation of specifications and processes to identify synergies and scope for consolidation through a continuous improvement process
Operate in compliance with Health Safety and Environment policy to ensure that the working environment remains safe for all colleagues
