Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking a Specification Technologist on a 12-month FTC to join the NPD team, working across sites on upcoming projects. This home-based role with occasional travel supports material specs, packaging and labeling compliance.

You will manage customer specifications, collaborate with Procurement, Technical and Packaging, and maintain supplier data, while supporting development documentation and site transfers. A proactive team player with strong IT skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer specification systems for food products.
• Formal HACCP or food safety training is desirable.
• Strong planning, organisation and project management skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with procurement, technical and packaging.
• Excellent IT skills including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Ensure and maintain customer specifications and portal systems for materials and packaging.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Technical and Packaging to keep supplier data current.
• Manage specification administration from concept through delist.
• Adhere to labeling guidelines and customer codes of practice.
• Support product development documentation and site transfers.
• Assist with artwork changes to deliver compliant packaging.

We have a new opportunity for a Specification Technologist to join the NPD team at The Compleat Food Group, working cross-site on upcoming projects!

Location: Home-based role with occasional ad-hoc travel required to sites across the group

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00 and Fridays 08:30-16:00

Contract: 12 month Fixed-Term Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Effective completion and maintenance of customer specifications and portal systems in line with customer category plans and company agenda including raw materials, packaging and legality.
• Work alongside Procurement, Technical and Packaging to ensure that teams have acquired and maintained accurate raw material and packaging supplier information
• Management of the specification administration process from concept, through to delist.
• Adhere to latest labelling guidelines and customer codes of practice whilst understanding customer policies and procedures
• Complete documentation in support of the product development team and wider business when required.
• Support artwork process amendments to produce legal packaging in line with company, retailer and industry standards
• Updating specifications in line with ongoing company projects, include site product transfers

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

• Customer specification system experience (food related)
• HACCP / Food Safety Training
