Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Auditor for a 12-month fixed-term contract at our Nottingham site. You will support the factory with technical and quality assurance, ensuring food safety, legality and customer compliance across the site.

In this role you will maintain quality systems, work closely with operations and suppliers, and help drive continuous improvements through audits, investigations and calibrated checks.

Qualifications

• Previous QA experience in a food production facility.
• Ability to use Word, Excel and related IT packages.
• Food Safety Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with all departments and foster teamwork.
• Carry out daily walk rounds and tests to ensure quality.
• Complete detailed investigations and issue closures.
• Conduct taste panels and product reviews against specifications.
• Perform routine sampling, testing, and OOS reporting.
• Support internal audits and corrective actions.

We’re looking for a QA Auditor to join our Technical team at our Nottingham site on a 12 months fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave, and play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, legality and customer compliance.

Location: Nottingham

Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 5pm & Friday: 8:30am – 4pm

Salary: up to £30,000 per annum DOE

Purpose:

As a QA Auditor, you’ll provide professional and effective technical and quality support to the factory, helping to drive high standards of food safety and GMP across the site.

You’ll play an important role in ensuring our quality systems are followed and business requirements are met, while building strong and positive relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

Key Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Maintain and enhance relationships with all departments, fostering teamwork and effective communication.

• - Detailed communication records available for site use at all times.
• - Daily walk rounds carried out.
• - Improved factory standards.
• - Feedback from the operations team.
• - Detailed investigations completed as necessary.

• - Reduction in quality incidents
• - Carry out daily taste panels as part of reviewing the quality of products.
• - Taste panels carried out on time
• - Products reviewed prior to panels and issues feedback to operations team as necessary
• - Carry out routine tasks such as swabbing, air plates and product sampling in line with schedules in place, send to Lab and investigate OOS results.
• - Sampling/testing carried out to schedule
• - OOS Reports completed
• - Carry out Pre Despatch Verification (PDV) checks.
• - 4 hours checks carried out on time
• - Reduction in issues due to accurate checks
• - Completed complaints investigation reports
• - Recall of product traceability
• - Carry out temperature monitoring and measurement for onsite temperature systems as required.
• - Timely checks
• - Completed records
• - Carry out scheduled calibration checks e.g. scales, belts etc.
• - Checks carried out to schedule
• - Carry out and report scheduled internal audits and close of corrective actions.
• - Audits carried out on time
• - Close out of actions
• - Pick up ad hoc tasks and requests through the technical management team e.g. traceability exercises, investigations.
• - Reports completed
• - Prevention of issues recurring
• - Pick up ad hoc projects as requested and take part in project teams.
• - Support NPD and commercial in new launches through line set ups for labelling, coding, X rays, check weigher, Metal detection.
• - Completed checks prior to launch
• - Champion a health and safety culture to meet all requirements across the site. Promote safe working practices ensuring safety during packaging trials.
• - Promote safe working across site and advise manager immediately on unsafe working practices
• - Work safely during packaging trials

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• - Previous QA experience in a food production facility
• - Ability to use computer programmes including word, excel and related technical IT packages
• - Food Safety Level 2
