NHS Lothian's Midlothian Hospital at Home Service is recruiting a Specialty Doctor. Based at Midlothian Community Hospital, the post offers permanent, full-time hours (40 per week) with flexible and compressed working patterns.

Applicants with experience in acute medicine, frailty, general practice or related specialties are welcomed; the service aims to avoid admissions and support early discharge with high-quality care close to home.

Qualifications

• Must have full GMC registration and Licence to Practice.
• Completed at least four years’ postgraduate training (or equivalent) with two years in a specialty training programme or LAT.
• Equivalent training, experience or competencies, UK or overseas.

Responsabilités

• Join the Midlothian Hospital at Home Service, based at Midlothian Community Hospital, to deliver high-quality acute care closer to home.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to support early discharge and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.
• There is no on-call or out-of-hours requirement beyond public holidays, with flexible and compressed working patterns.

Entry Criteria For a Specialty Doctor

A doctor appointed to this grade:

• shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC);
• shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT); Or
• shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.

Applications are welcome for the above Permanent/, full time/ (40 hours per week) post based in Midlothian Community Hospital.

Applications are invited from Specialty Doctors, General Practitioners, and other suitably experienced clinicians to join the Midlothian Hospital at Home Service, based at Midlothian Community Hospital. Applicants with experience in acute medicine, frailty, general practice, community-based acute care or related specialties are welcomed. The service provides acute admission avoidance and supports early discharge through the delivery of high-quality acute care closer to home. There is no on call or out of hours working associated with this post other than working with colleagues to ensure public holidays are covered. The post offers flexible and compressed working, dedicated Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) time and regular multidisciplinary team working within an innovative Hospital at Home service.
