We are seeking a Specialty Doctor grade psychiatrist to join our friendly, multidisciplinary team. The team is stable and well-equipped.
The main role involves providing clinical input and supporting the Community Mental Health Team, which serves adult patients (18-65) in North Devon Taw.
This is a full-time, community-based role based at West Pilton Health and Wellbeing Clinic in Barnstaple, with clinic and admin support. The team includes a Consultant Nurse, Approved Clinician, and Consultant Psychiatrist.
The post offers support for personal development, weekly SPA time, study leave, and funding for CPD. It is a fixed-term position for 24 months.
The team provides assessment and ongoing treatment for patients with severe mental illness and complex needs. The role involves active assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning.
A key aspect is expertise in physical health assessments for safe initiation and review of psychotropic medications like antipsychotics and lithium. Registration as a prescriber for CPMS is encouraged.
The post requires close collaboration with other services and active participation in MDT meetings for clinical decision-making, planning, and discharge.
