Workload at HMP Exeter
HMP Exeter receives approximately 190 receptions with 121 referrals to the mental health team per month. All referrals are triaged by the In-Reach Team. The in-reach teams hold a caseload, and within this caseload, a number of patients would be subject to CPA management. New assessments requiring psychiatric input are scheduled into the psychiatric clinic and then discussed with the team to plan treatment and support. The role offers flexibility in individual responsibilities, but the overarching model is one of integrated working across the mental health multidisciplinary teams.
There are no on-call commitments associated with this role.
This post-holder will be based at HMP Exeter for the allocated PAs, where the mental health services include a full multidisciplinary team: mental health practitioners, a Support Time and Recovery worker, psychologists and assistants, a psychotherapist/systemic practitioner, supported by an admin assistant and a custodial flow co-ordinator. All team members work closely with other healthcare colleagues.
