Job summary

NHS Lothian invites applications for a Specialty Doctor in General Paediatrics based at St John’s Hospital, Livingston. This full-time role is in Medical Paediatrics within Women and Children’s Services, NHS Lothian, with the possibility to work at other NHS Lothian sites as required.

Two posts are available: one substantive and one fixed-term for 12 months. Closing Date: 23/10/2026. Informal discussions can be held with Dr Laura Fraser or Dr Helen Rhodes.

Qualifications

• Must have full GMC registration and Licence to Practice.
• Must have completed at least four years of postgraduate training, with at least two in a specialty training programme or LAT.
• Equivalent training/competencies accepted in UK or overseas.

A Doctor Appointed To This Grade

• shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC);
• shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT);

• shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas

Permanent/ Fixed term full time (40hours per week) post based in St. John’s Hospital.
