Job Description:

CPL UK Healthcare (formerly RIG Locums) is seeking a General Adult Specialty doctor, NHS based in South London.

The role offers negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Specialty doctor in General Adult Psychiatry for full-time work, ideal for those wanting to broaden inpatient experience and develop clinical skills in a supportive environment. The team is well-established with good support from senior clinical and managerial colleagues.

The Trust is looking for an energetic and motivated specialty doctor to work on a male-only acute inpatient ward, supporting the consultant psychiatrist in providing high-quality clinical care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend daily handover meetings and run MDT meetings in the absence of the consultant.
• Support junior doctors and the consultant psychiatrist with assessments, Tribunal reports, hearings, and discharge summaries.
• Monitor the mental health of inpatients.
• Coordinate Mental Health Act Assessments as needed.
• Liaise with CMHTs and other agencies, working with the Ward discharge coordinator for timely discharges.
• Participate in daytime Duty Doctor cover during unforeseen absences of junior doctors.

During Consultant Leave:

• Provide senior medical support to junior doctors on the ward.
• Responsible clinician cover will be provided by a Consultant when the primary consultant is on leave.

This list is indicative; other related tasks may be performed, including leading patient groups, teaching, or undertaking audits or research, as agreed with the team.
