Specialty Doctor - Forensic Psychiatry, Preston (10PA)
We are seeking to recruit a Specialty Doctor in Forensic Psychiatry to work with the teams based at Guild Lodge, Goosnargh, which is located on the outskirts of Preston. The post is substantive full time (10 PAs). There is no on-call commitment attached to this post. However, for those who are Section 12 approved, there may be the opportunity to join one of the 2nd Tier on-call rotas within one of the localities, for which additional remuneration would be paid.
The clinical component of the post is based on the Forensic Brain Injury Service and you will contribute to the multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) on Bleasdale, Whinfell and Langden wards. In addition, you will participate in MDT assessments of patients referred into the service. You will contribute to care planning. There will be opportunities to build up your confidence in report-writing and preparing reports for and presenting to manager's hearing and Tribunals.
The post holder shall provide clinical input and support to the Consultant and other MDT members. Further details about the clinical duties can be found in the Job Description attached to this advert.
There is a supportive workforce at Guild Lodge with opportunities to attend and contribute to the teaching programme within Guild Lodge and Trust.
To be eligible to apply for this post, you must possess at least 3 years' experience in psychiatry and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice. Ideally, you will be Section 12 Approved, or eligible for approval at the time of commencing employment.
