NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia for Inverclyde Royal Hospital. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the UK's largest healthcare systems, is seeking a dedicated Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia to join the team at Inverclyde Royal Hospital on a permanent basis with a 6.5 PA job plan.
The department is known for its welcoming and friendly environment, committed to providing excellent, safe, and patient-centered care. The hospital serves as the elective Orthopaedic Hub for Clyde, with plans to expand colorectal surgical capacity. Other specialties include CEPOD, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Breast, ENT, Orthopaedics, Urology, Paediatric Dental, Plastic Surgery, and Gynaecology. The Acute Pain Service is consultant-led with input from an Acute Pain Nurse.
Support is available for anaesthetic CT and ST trainees, and there are opportunities for CPD, research, and collaboration with other hospitals such as the Royal Alexandra Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Glasgow.
As a Specialty Doctor, you will cover the middle-grade rota, develop your clinical interests, and contribute to teaching and education. Support is also available for the FRCA Primary examinations.
The job plan consists of a 6.5 PA, equivalent to two 12.5-hour shifts from 08:30 to 21:00.
Applicants should have full GMC registration, be eligible to work in the UK, and possess at least 3 years of balanced experience in anaesthesia and critical care, including the ability to manage inter-hospital transfers of critical care patients with distant supervision.
