The Trust is seeking an energetic and motivated specialty doctor, ideally with Section 12 Approval, to work on a male-only acute inpatient ward and support the consultant psychiatrist in providing high-quality clinical care to our patients.

This position is based at Tolworth Hospital, Red Lion Rd, Tolworth, Surbiton KT6 7QU. Ellis Ward is part of the inpatient services within the Trust’s Acute and Urgent Care Service Line, comprising 8 acute adult wards and a PICU, across Springfield Hospital in Tooting and Tolworth Hospital in Surbiton.

The role involves 10 Programmed Activities, with clinical sessions on Ellis Ward, within the Inpatient Services of South West London & St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. The appointed Specialty Doctor will be clinically supervised by the Ellis Ward Consultant Psychiatrist (Dr. Jose Felix Mendez Jimenez).

The job plan will be regularly reviewed and may be adjusted based on service needs. Ellis Ward is a 20-bed mixed ward with an average of 12 admissions/transfers and 10 discharges/transfers per month over the past year.
