Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is inviting applications for a Specialty Doctor post in Anaesthesia, with extensive obstetric anaesthesia experience. Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative assessment, perioperative and postoperative care to patients across both sites of the Teaching Hospital Trust.
• Work independently where appropriate, with consultant cover available.
• Deliver anaesthesia for General, Urology, Orthopaedics, Trauma, Ophthalmology and Gynaecology; also Hepato-Biliary, Vascular and Major Head & Neck services.
• On-call commitment at Burnley General Hospital on a 1:11 basis with two-tier rota and distant consultant supervision; support trainee rota for emergency gynaecology.
• Theatre sessions are flexible in site and specialty according to negotiation and service needs.
