Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The post includes managing labour ward and gynae emergencies with consultant support, and liaising with ED and SDEC to ensure timely assessment of obstetric and gynecology patients.

The role also involves teaching, clinical governance, and contributing to service development and MDT collaboration within the Trust.

Qualifications

• MBBS or recognised equivalent required.
• MRCOG certification desirable.
• Full GMC Registration essential.
• Shall have completed at least four years' postgraduate training (or equivalent).
• Experience in teaching junior medical staff and training in evidence-based medicine.
• Evidence of CPD and appraisal/revalidation within GMC guidelines.
• NHS experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the labour ward and gynecology emergencies with support from obstetrics and gynaecology consultants.
• Be the point of contact for ED and SDEC to ensure gynecology and obstetrics patients are seen.
• Support with service improvements and development of business plans for future strategy.
• Work with colleagues and managers to ensure efficient running of services.
• Participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities.
• Provide supervision, induction, and career guidance to junior doctors.

Education

MBBS or recognised equivalent
