A leading NHS Trust is seeking a Clinician to join the Child and Adolescent Services in Hounslow. This position involves assessing and treating young clients while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The role offers opportunities for supervision and involvement in training and quality improvement projects.
This post lies within the Child and Adolescent Services of West London Mental Health NHS Trust. The post-holder will be based at Hounslow CAMHS at the Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health.
The post is split, depending on needs, between the Adolescent Team and the Child and Family Team. The post contributes to the service Duty Rota, providing experience in managing referrals and urgent responses. There are also opportunities to gain experience in the Neurodevelopmental Team, as well as work with other health services and agencies.
The Clinician will join assessments, team meetings, and clinics for the Adolescent and CFT teams. They will offer assessments and treatment to referred cases, be involved in case management, and have opportunities to co-work cases with other multidisciplinary team members.
Clinical Supervision will be provided by the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The doctor will have opportunities to attend multi-professional meetings and liaise with extended networks involved in case management.
There are opportunities to gain experience in different psychotherapeutic modalities under supervision, including family therapy, psychotherapy, and CBT. The main duties involve managing day-to-day activities and caseloads.
Previous experience working in a child and adolescent mental health service is essential.
The main duties include providing daily medical input to clients aged between 5 and 18 years, including assessments, reviews, and prescribing medication. The successful candidate will contribute to the duty rota, covering emergency calls from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Opportunities for training and study leave are available. Clinicians are encouraged to participate in Quality Improvement, Audit, and service improvement projects. Weekly supervision by a consultant psychiatrist and attendance at weekly MDT meetings are part of the role.
