Job summary

NHS Trust seeks an experienced clinician in Trauma & Orthopaedics to manage acute cases, participate in fracture clinics and provide ward-based care in a busy hospital setting.

The role involves on-call duties, collaboration with consultants and allied health professionals, and maintaining accurate clinical records. GMC licence to practise and ATLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• GMC registration with licence to practise required.
• ATLS certification preferred.
• NHS trauma & orthopaedics experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and management of trauma and orthopaedic patients.
• Participation in fracture clinics and outpatient services.
• Ward rounds and inpatient management.
• Management of acute orthopaedic admissions.
• Pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
• Assisting in trauma and elective theatre sessions.
• Liaising with consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participation in on-call rotas where required.
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.

• Assessment and management of trauma and orthopaedic patients


• Participation in fracture clinics and outpatient services


• Ward rounds and inpatient management


• Management of acute orthopaedic admissions


• Pre-operative and post-operative patient care


• Assisting in trauma and elective theatre sessions


• Liaising with consultants, nursing staff, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals


• Participation in on-call rotas where required


• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
  GMC registration with a licence to practise


• Previous NHS experience in Trauma & Orthopaedics


• ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification


• Valid Right to Work in the UK


• Available to commence work ASAP


• Strong clinical and communication skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, Experience working at Specialty Doctor or Registrar level within the NHS


• Experience in managing acute trauma cases


• Competency in common orthopaedic procedures


• Experience in multidisciplinary team working


• Audit, teaching and quality improvement experience
