Oldham Council is recruiting for a Specialist Winter Maintenance Equipment Driver on a fixed-term seasonal contract based at Moorhey Street Depot, Oldham. The role involves standby/callout duties, driving grit vehicles to spread grit on highways and public places, with on-call standby pay and a rota-based pattern from Thursday to Thursday.

Salary: £28,598 - £31,022 per annum (Grade 4) including standby payment of £225 when on call.
Hours: Zero hour contract (shift patterns, working on a rota basis for 1 week, Thursday to Thursday)

Role Overview:
To work on a standby/callout basis to drive a HGV Vehicle to grit highways and public places or load the gritter vehicles. Drivers/Loaders are expected to be available at all times throughout the week whilst on call to which a gross standby payment is paid irrespective of any hours worked to ensure your availability throughout.
