Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Specialist Tutor in Bracknell to deliver tailored 1:1 lessons aimed at bridging gaps in pupil learning and boosting engagement. The role involves home-based tuition within Bracknell and surrounding areas, with a strong emphasis on SEN support including autism, SEMH and complex needs.

Flexibility exists for part-time or full-time hours depending on availability. You will monitor progress through weekly reports, planning sessions that re-engage pupils and reinstate

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent.
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school.
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential).

Job description

Specialist Tutor - Bracknell

As a Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels. Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

We work with you closely to monitor the progression of each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports, focusing on the highs and lows of the week and what subject areas were focused on. We also ask you to highlight engagement levels to ensure that the sessions are beneficial to the young person.

The students that require support are often SEN pupils with EHCP's, tuition often takes place at home and will be in within the following areas all around Bracknell. A strong background in supporting SEN pupils with autism, SEMH, and complex needs would be essential for this role.

• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 25 per hour. The hourly rate will be in line with professional pay scales where these are available or based on experience if they are not available
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references.
• Have access to a personal computer and the internet.
