Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant (Initially in KS1)

The Governing Body at Bowmandale Primary School is looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed teaching assistant to work with children on a 1:1 basis, supporting those with complex Special Educational Needs, including medical and behavioural needs.

Experience working with children with complex behavioural difficulties is preferred.

The role involves supporting children during teaching and recreational times.

Working hours: Mon - Thursday 8.45am - 12pm & 1.00pm - 2.30pm; Fri 8.45am - 12pm.

The successful candidate will work closely with Class Teachers to promote independence, inclusion, and access to the curriculum and learning resources. Good communication skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to work independently are essential.

We seek someone with a caring nature and kind personality, equipped with strategies to meet children's personal, social, and emotional needs.

The post requires active team participation within the school, contributing to high-quality teaching and learning. We offer opportunities for professional development and a supportive environment.

Due to access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will need to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
