Job summary

The Children’s Trust in Tadworth is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality support for pupils with severe learning difficulties, including complex needs. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher to contribute to each pupil’s education and well-being.

This 52-week contract involves assisting with learning activities, supporting care routines, and using IT platforms to monitor progress, in collaboration with the school team.

Qualifications

• Supports EHCP delivery under supervision of the teacher.
• Assists in the delivery of educational work programmes by participating in day-to-day learning activities.
• Reports back to the teacher on pupil engagement in learning.
• Maintains the learning environment in collaboration with the class team.
• Supports learning and care routines, promoting wellbeing and development.

Responsibilities

• To support an integrated and holistic approach to education, health and care.
• To work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher.
• To support access to learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities.
• To provide a high standard of direct care, including personal care.
