Job Title: Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant – Primary

Location: Chapel-En-Le-Frith
Contract: 37 hours per week, term time only

Our client is on the lookout for a brilliant, caring, and resilient Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join their High Peak site. If you’ve got a knack for connecting with children others find ‘challenging’, a positive outlook, and a sense of humour that could brighten even the toughest day — this is your next role.

About the role:

You’ll be working with primary-aged pupils who’ve had a tricky time in mainstream schools and need a fresh start. The classes are small (2–7 pupils), the days are varied, and no two hours look quite the same.

You’ll be:

Supporting pupils to engage in lessons and get the most from their learning.

Working one-to-one or in small groups, tailored to what each child needs.

Stepping in to lead lessons if needed (don’t worry — we’ve got your back).

Occasionally delivering home tuition or safe-and-well visits.

What you’ll need:

Experience working with young people who have behavioural, emotional, or social challenges (in school or similar settings).

A natural ability to build positive, trusting relationships.

Confidence, flexibility, and a readiness to get stuck in.

Your own transport and business-use insurance (or willing to get) for those home visits and meetings across sites.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
