Job summary

Swanton is seeking a Male Specialist Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support to individuals in their own homes. The role requires adaptability, strong communication, and a willingness to drive an automatic vehicle as part of daily duties.

You will accompany the person supported in activities, assist with daily living tasks, and maintain records using electronic systems. This full-time permanent position offers a structured environment and opportunities to develop through

Qualifications

• You will need to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team.
• Experience of challenging behaviour and/or learning disabilities is preferred but all training will be provided.
• This position is to support a female person in their own home.
• The person we support has their own automatic vehicle. The successful candidate would need to hold a full UK driving license and be willing to drive the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
• Promote health, well-being, and diverse beliefs in an inclusive way.
• Facilitate social, educational or work activities of the person’s choice.
• Perform general housekeeping duties and help build skills around the home.
• Complete records and documents using electronic systems.
• Be resilient and support in managing challenging behaviour in line with plans and risk assessments.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appropriate boundaries while being outgoing and supportive.
