Job summary
Kent Autistic Trust is seeking a Specialist Support Worker to empower individuals in daily living, personal care, and mobility assistance in Medway and Kent. You will support people to access activities they enjoy, enable choice, and maintain a safe home in a compassionate, person-centred approach.
The role includes early, late shifts and scheduled sleep-ins; salary starts at £26,540 with potential overtime earnings above £30,000. Join a welcoming team focused on dignity and inclusion.
Qualifications
- Must hold a manual UK driving licence and be confident driving mobility vehicles.
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
- Ability to support individuals who may experience emotional distress, heightened anxiety, or challenging behaviours with calm, person-centred approaches.
- Clear, adaptable communication style to meet diverse needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical and emotional support tailored to each individual.
- Assist with personal care, medication, and daily routines.
- Encourage and empower people to participate in activities they enjoy.
- Support with cooking and cleaning to maintain a safe, welcoming home.
- Respond calmly to behaviours and support inclusion and dignity.
