Job summary

Kent Autistic Trust seeks a Specialist Support Worker to empower people we support, enabling involvement in their own lives. You will provide practical and emotional support, assist with daily routines, personal care and medication, and promote choice in activities within a safe, welcoming home.

The role operates on a 3-week rota including early, late and sleep-in shifts. A calm, patient approach helps those with anxiety or complex communication needs thrive in their daily lives.

Qualifications

• Manual UK driving licence essential.
• Right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship available.
• Able to support individuals with distress, anxiety or behaviour.
• Clear, calm communication for complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support tailored to individuals.
• Assist with personal care, medication and daily routines.
• Encourage choices and active life participation.
• Support access to activities and maintain a safe home.
• Use person-centred approaches to respond to behaviours.
