Job summary

sjb medical seeks a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to support learners with complex communication needs in Hereford, with Flex to cover Worcester and South Wales.

You will manage your own caseload, assess and deliver specialist therapy programmes, supervise therapy assistants, and contribute to annual reviews within a multidisciplinary team, delivering person-centred care across 39 weeks per year and beyond for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification recognised by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Current HCPC registration and licence to practise.
• Minimum of two years' experience in a relevant clinical field.
• Experience managing a caseload and working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of evidence-based assessment and intervention approaches.
• Experience training, supporting or supervising others.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate specialist therapy programmes for learners with complex communication needs.
• Manage your own caseload and support learners to achieve meaningful communication outcomes.
• Complete complex assessments, including pre-college assessments and dysphagia assessments where appropriately qualified.
• Design and oversee programmes delivered by Therapy Assistants and other colleagues across the organisation.
• Provide supervision and support to Speech & Language Therapists and Speech & Language Therapy Assistants.
• Contribute to annual reviews, reports, capacity assessments and multidisciplinary planning processes.
• Deliver training, coaching and communication strategies to staff and key communication partners.
