Job summary

sjb medical seeks a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to support learners with complex communication needs across Hereford and nearby areas. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist therapy programmes and assessments.

You will manage your own caseload, supervise Therapy Assistants, and contribute to reviews and planning, promoting Total Communication approaches and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate specialist therapy programmes for learners with complex communication needs.
• Manage your own caseload and support learners to achieve meaningful communication outcomes.
• Complete complex assessments, including pre-college assessments and dysphagia assessments where appropriately qualified.
• Design and oversee programmes delivered by Therapy Assistants and other colleagues across the organisation.
• Provide supervision and support to Speech & Language Therapists and Speech & Language Therapy Assistants.
• Contribute to annual reviews, reports, capacity assessments and multidisciplinary planning processes.
• Deliver training, coaching and communication strategies to staff and key communication partners.
• Promote a Total Communication approach and help embed communication support throughout the learner's daily life.
