Job summary

Phoenix Learning and Care Group is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work 3–5 days per week in a school setting in the South West. The role includes 1:1 therapy, small group work, and in-class support with pupils who have learning disabilities or autism. A relocation allowance is offered to assist with your move.

The position is term-time only, with a strong focus on work-life balance and protected time for professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy required.
• HCPC Registration and RCSLT membership preferred.
• Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office) required.
• Full UK driving licence (occasional offsite meetings) requested.

• Provide in-class support alongside teachers.
• Support pupils on placement and mentor less experienced staff.

Salary: £19,372.50 to £23,322.60 for 22.5 hours per week (3-5 days, 42 weeks per year) (FTE equivalent: £39,975.00 to £48,126.00)
Contract: Permanent - Term time Only

In this role, you will support pupils with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism, helping them develop essential communication skills to thrive. Your work will empower children to express themselves, build confidence, and engage with the world around them.

Each day begins with a collaborative team briefing, followed by a varied mix of:

• 1:1 therapy sessions
• Small group interventions
• In-class support alongside teachers

What a Typical Day Looks Like

• Delivering trauma-informed therapy to a manageable caseload of pupils with SEMH needs, Learning Disabilities, and Autism
• Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, teachers, and teaching assistants
• Participating in team meetings and contributing to holistic care plans
• Completing administrative tasks easily during quieter periods or from home during school holidays
