Job summary

Phoenix Learning & Care Group is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for a part-time post at Petherton Park School, North Petherton. The role offers 3–5 days per week during term time and a relocation allowance to support your move to the South West.

You'll support pupils with learning disabilities and Autism to develop communication skills, with 1:1 sessions, small group work, and in‑class support. Flexible arrangements across 3–5 days are possible.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy is required.
• HCPC Registration and RCSLT membership preferred.
• Good IT skills with Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 therapy sessions for pupils.
• Conduct small group interventions and in-class support.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team with teachers and aides.
• Mentor less experienced therapists and contribute to training.
• Support pupils on placement and complete admin tasks during holidays.

About The Role

Speech and Language Therapist (Part-Time, 3-5 Days per Week) - Relocation Allowance Aavailable

Location: Petherton Park School, North Petherton (TA6)

Salary: £19,372.50 to £23,322.60 for 22.5 hours per week (3-5 days, 42 weeks per year) (FTE equivalent: £39,975.00 to £48,126.00)
Contract: Permanent – Term Time Only

In this role, you will support pupils with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism, helping them develop essential communication skills to thrive. Your work will empower children to express themselves, build confidence, and engage with the world around them.

Each day begins with a collaborative team briefing, followed by a varied mix of:

• 1:1 therapy sessions
• Small group interventions
• In-class support alongside teachers

What a Typical Day Looks Like

• Delivering trauma-informed therapy to a manageable caseload of pupils with SEMH needs, Learning Disabilities, and Autism
• Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, teachers, and teaching assistants
• Participating in team meetings and contributing to holistic care plans
• Completing administrative tasks easily during quieter periods or from home during school holidays

What You’ll Need

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC Registration and RCSLT membership

• Full UK driving licence (occasional offsite meetings)
