Location: Meldreth, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border
Salary: £48,110.40 - £54,766.40 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks a year
About the Role:
Our client, a specialist independent day school located on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border near Royston, is looking to appoint a skilled and passionate Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive setting, making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people with complex communication needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and a range of associated difficulties.
As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions that promote communication, social interaction, and learning across the school. You will work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families, and external professionals to ensure each student's communication needs are met holistically and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, and deliver individualised speech and language therapy for students with a range of needs
Contribute to the development of communication-focused learning environments
Provide training, guidance, and support to education staff to implement therapy strategies
Monitor and evaluate progress using a variety of tools and assessment frameworks
Work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team to support students' overall development
Ideal Candidate:
Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with HCPC and RCSLT
Experience working with children and young people with complex needs, particularly ASC and/or SEMH
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a school-based setting
Experience delivering training and supporting education staff is desirable
