Job Description:

Working as a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be providing a service to children and young people up to the age of 19 to support their speech, language and communication needs. The successful candidate will be working within various environments, including but not limited to, mainstream schools, clinics and homes as and when necessary.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working collaboratively with other agencies.
  • Assisting fellow therapists in the team with the screening and allocation of cases within an agreed framework, including self-allocation and discharge planning.
  • Conducting and documenting comprehensive assessments, utilizing standardised assessments when applicable.
  • Fostering communication through informal and formal exchanges at case conferences with other therapy teams.
  • Providing expert support and advice to parents/carers regarding therapy interventions.
  • Contributing to in-service training programs, professional talks, lectures, and working groups.
  • Upholding high standards of confidentiality in all dealings with clients and carers.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Therapist.
  • Experience of working in the community.
  • Awareness of IT and basic IT skills
  • Excellent skills in conducting precise therapy assessments and treatments within the field of physical and cognitive disabilities, employing a variety of approaches.
