Job summary

Hampshire County Council is recruiting a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Education and Inclusion Therapy Service. The role delivers expert SLT input across Hampshire’s schools and settings, supporting children from early years through to post-16 education.

The post offers term-time hours with strong supervision, induction and ongoing CPD, and opportunities for professional advancement within NHS banded structures.

Qualifications

• Registered with HCPC and qualified Speech and Language Therapist.
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEN in education/NHS/community settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with schools, families and professionals.
• Able to use IT systems for clinical documentation and reporting.
• Knowledge of clinical governance, confidentiality and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist SLT assessments and interventions for children and young people.
• Collaborate with education staff, families and multi-agency professionals to develop support plans.
• Deliver SLT support as part of the Experts at Hand offer across educational settings and age groups.
• Support capacity-building in schools through consultation, training and whole-school approaches.
• Provide clinical and managerial supervision within the team.
