Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is seeking a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (Band 6) to join the Neuro and Major Trauma Team. You will deliver high-quality SLT services across acute in-patient, rehab and out-patient settings and support service development under clinical leads.

Experience with dysphagia and communication disorders, and participation in MDTs, CPD and governance is valued. In-house training and opportunities for portfolio development are provided.

Qualifications

• Recognised Degree / Masters in Speech and Language Pathology.
• HCPC & RCSLT Registration.
• Evidence of CPD in relevant areas.
• Post graduate courses in relevant clinical area of Speech and Language Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide a specialist SLT clinical service to adults with acquired disorders of communication, cognition and dysphagia.
• Work across acute in-patient, rehab and out-patient pathways; engage in MDT work.
• Support clinical leads in day-to-day running of the clinical area through knowledge and accountability.
• Contribute to teaching, research, audit and service development.
• Actively participate in CPD to maintain and expand clinical knowledge.
• Deliver a service across RPH and CDH sites and support Trust initiatives.
