Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking energetic SEND Teaching Assistants for a specialist school in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. You will support children and young people aged 4–19 with SLD, PMLD, autism and complex needs in a small, well-staffed class.

Working alongside teachers, therapists and experienced SEND professionals, you’ll assist with sensory learning, communication activities, and practical life skills. Full training is provided, and safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with Makaton, communication aids or complex needs is beneficial.
• Patient, hands-on and able to celebrate progress.
• Full support and specialist training provided.

Responsibilities

• Support children aged 4–19 with SLD, PMLD, autism and complex needs.
• Work in a small class alongside teachers, therapists and SEND staff.
• Assist with sensory learning, communication activities, life skills, mobility and personal care as required.
