Job summary

Simply Education is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Longsight, Manchester. This role supports pupils with SEND and complex needs in a nurturing, relationship-based setting, with EHCPs and personalised strategies.

The position offers a full-time, term-time timetable with a warm team, ongoing training, and potential progression within a PRU/specialist provision environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt to individual learning needs.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Care Worker or Support Worker is desirable.
• Experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision, SEMH setting or specialist SEND environment would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Supporting communication, social and emotional development.
• Helping pupils engage positively with learning activities.
• Implementing strategies identified within EHCPs and support plans.
• Promoting independence, confidence and resilience.
• Supporting pupils requiring additional behavioural or emotional support.
• Working closely with teachers and wider support staff.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and families.
• Contributing to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
