Job summary

Davies is seeking a Specialist Pre Litigated File Handler in Liverpool to manage a pre-litigation casualty caseload up to a £200,000 reserve, covering personal injury, product liability and property damage from inception to settlement.

The role requires proactive case management, data accuracy, SLA compliance, and mentoring of team members, with involvement in client reviews and meetings where applicable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in claims handling and casualty work.
• Experience handling quantum up to £100k.
• Experience training, mentoring and supervising teams.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a caseload of casualty claims including Public Liability, Employers Liability, Product Liability & Property Damage.
• Maintain accurate data on the case management system and comply with client SLAs.
• Allocate new claims, set strategies and supervise team tasks; attend client review meetings.

Specialist Pre Litigated File Handler

Description

The file handler will be responsible for managing a pre litigated caseload of specialist casualty claims up to a reserve value of £200,000. This includes personal injury, product liability and property damage. The handler will manage the claim from inception to settlement pre litigation.

Key Responsibilities

• To pro-actively manage a caseload of specialist casualty claims involving Public Liability, Employers Liability, Product Liability & Property Damage claims
• Specialist criteria may include but is not limited to:
  • Fatalities and serious injuries
  • GDPR, defamation and PR sensitive claims
  • Multi Defendant claims
  • Policy coverage issues
  • Any claims as agreed with the client
• Maintain accurate data on relevant case management system
• Comply with set client SLA’s
• Ensure quality service standards and productivity levels are maintained to a high standard
• Allocate new claims and set strategies
• Carry out supervisory tasks appropriate to level
• Assist with training and mentoring team members
• Undertake appropriate additional tasks provided by the Team Leader
• Attend Client review meetings and assist with client project work where applicable

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Minimum 5 years claims handling and casualty experience
• Experience dealing with quantum up to £100k
• Significant experience dealing with specialist claims with complex liability and quantum issues
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Effectively prioritises workload
• Experience providing training or mentoring and supervising
