Job description

Join Our Team as a Skilled Practitioner

Are you creative? Do you think outside the box? Do you want to work in a supportive, passionate, and motivated team?

The Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole Learning Disability Team is seeking a highly motivated Skilled Practitioner to join our team.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week), Band 6 role, suitable for a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, or Occupational Therapist with a passion for working with individuals with learning disabilities.

You must be a driver with full access to a car, as this is a community-based post.

We are looking for someone interested in working with a trauma-informed and person-centered approach. Creativity in engaging service users in meaningful ways to achieve effective outcomes is essential.

The ideal candidate will stay up-to-date with current evidence-based practices to inform clinical outcomes, providing high-quality, person-centered care that considers safety, privacy, and dignity.

Responsibilities include providing high-quality out-of-area care coordination, specialist assessments, treatments, and managing a caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will also offer specialist advice, devise care programs, and plan health improvement initiatives across various settings.

You will provide supervision, mentorship, training, and clinical support to students, practitioners, and care providers, contributing to the wider health and care system.

At Dorset HealthCare, our mission is to empower people to make the most of their lives through outstanding, joined-up healthcare services. We are a dynamic, forward-looking trust rated 'outstanding' by CQC in 2019, with high patient and staff satisfaction scores.

We offer diverse working locations across Dorset, including market towns, urban areas, seaside spots, and rural landscapes, providing numerous opportunities to make a difference in our communities.

Our 7,000-strong workforce is committed to building an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity and provides equal opportunities. We believe in authentic environments where everyone can be their best selves.

Join us to challenge yourself, build your career, and contribute to our vision of continuous improvement through excellence, compassion, and expertise.
