Job summary

NHS Scotland recruits a Specialist Podiatrist for South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, based at University Hospital Ayr and working across acute and community settings.

The post is 26 hours per week, permanent, with a full UK driving licence required; role supports progression to band 6 high-risk podiatry with wound care competencies.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and a B.Sc. in Podiatric Medicine or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care for diabetes, peripheral arterial disease and complex wounds.
• Treat and manage high-risk wounds across multiple settings.
• Perform nail surgery and undertake new patient assessments.
• Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Utilise IT systems to document care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Podiatrist within South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership based at University Hospital Ayr and working across acute and community settings.

Hours

The post is for 26 hours Monday to Friday. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

UK Driving Licence

Full UK driving licence is essential to this role.

What You Will Do

This job is suitable for a newly qualified Podiatrist who wishes to be supported into a band 6 high risk Podiatrist role on completion of competencies or for an experienced Specialist Podiatrist who wishes to extend their experience in high risk wound care. The postholder will provide person centred care for those diabetes, peripheral arterial disease and complex high risk. The role will involve a minimum of 60% treatment and management of high risk patients with wounds across a variety of care settings and locations. In addition, the postholder will undertake new patient assessments and nail surgery. Ability to work autonomously and provide high quality patient care as a specialist Podiatrist. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as is the ability to work flexibly and respond to the changing needs of the service. IT skills. The service provides excellent CPD support and offers the opportunity to work within a progressive service that delivers care through a structured podiatry service.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
