Join the Forth Valley Physiotherapy Neuro Rehabilitation Rotation

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Forth Valley Physiotherapy Neuro Rehabilitation Rotation. This rotation offers a unique training and development opportunity for Physiotherapists passionate about neuro rehabilitation. It includes placements with START (ESD for Stroke), the Forth Valley Neuro Rehabilitation Team, Specialist Rehabilitation (bed-based rehab within Bellfield Centre in Stirling), and inpatient Acute Stroke Rehabilitation.

Currently, the vacancy is with the Stroke Transition and Rehabilitation Team (START). Established in 2021, START is a community-based multidisciplinary team treating stroke patients in their home environment. The team plays an essential role in supporting early discharge from hospital, ensuring safe care transitions, and supporting patients' ongoing recovery journey.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and rehabilitation to patients across Forth Valley discharged from Acute Stroke, for up to 6-8 weeks.
• Work closely with inpatient Stroke service colleagues and community rehabilitation teams.
• Implement the AHP ambitions within the progressive stroke pathway for patients in Forth Valley.
• Deliver direct patient care with specialist clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to prioritize fluctuating workloads and adapt in a busy environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel across Forth Valley, including Falkirk Community Hospital, Forth Valley Royal Hospital, and the Bellfield Centre.
• Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or willingness to obtain it.
