Job summary

NHS is seeking a physiotherapist to join the Specialist Health Community Learning Disabilities Team. You will provide specialist physiotherapy for adults with learning disabilities where standard therapy is not suitable, improving mobility and independence through targeted assessments and equipment provision.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with carers and services, and ensure safe practice in line with safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• Specialist physiotherapy for adults with learning disabilities.
• Treat complex MSK problems with cognitive/sensory considerations.
• Support mobility with specialist equipment and assistive tech.

Responsibilities

• Relay complex information to people with learning disabilities with empathy.
• Assess capacity to consent and respect legal frameworks.
• Lead team/Physiotherapy meetings and represent the team.
• Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and community partners.
• Provide professional advice and use Total Communication practices.
